The Big Daddy
Alexander Graham Bell was born in Scotland on 1847. His deaf mother was one of the biggest inspirations for him, for she was able to play Piano really well, even though she was deaf. She influenced (not directly) him to work and help deaf kids by teaching them the Melville Bell’s Visible Speech technique when he got older. However strong his passion for helping others was, the one stronger passion was towards science, which easily grabbed his attention in 1872, when with Hubbard Gardiner’s financial help, he started working on a way to make telegraph transfer more then one message at a time. However, soon enough, he understood that he can use a similar principle to transfer human voice, thus the idea of phone was born. He spends countless days and nights from 1873 to 1874 inventing the first “telephone” and… he was successful. However, he had a rival, who at the same time created the idea of a phone himself. The very idea and creation of the phone set Alexander Graham Bell for life, and at that point, he could have easily quit doing anything, and simply lived his life on the Bahamas, sipping coconut juice for the rest of his life, however, he chose to continue his work and his research, and ended up making huge contributions into his company (Bell Telephone Company) and science as we know it today.
